Bio

Bud Robeson joined the faculty in the College of William and Mary Raymond A. Mason School of Business in 1978 and in 1988 became the Hays T Watkins professor of business. He retired in August 2014 serving as the Associate Dean for Faculty and William J. Fields Professor. He also served as the Assistant Dean for the Executive MBA program with locations in Williamsburg and Reston. In addition to teaching in the economics and strategy areas, he served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the business school for seven years and as the College’s Vice Provost for Information Technology for eight years. Bud has received outstanding teaching awards for both the MBA and EMBA programs. In 2014 he was recognized for outstanding service to Mason School receiving the Daniel Lewis Service Award. In August Bud became the Hays T. Watkins Professor emeritus. He continues to teach courses in the Mason School Bud earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and was a member of Ohio Theta of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Both his MBA and doctorate are from Indiana University. His first academic position was with Utah State University. He then moved to the University of Maryland. In 2000 he was appointed by the Governor to The Library of Virginia Board and in 2003 was selected to serve as the Board Vice Chair. In 2004 he was elected as Board Chair for the Library of Virginia. In 2012 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Williamsburg Landing, Inc. where he is a member of the Finance Committee, the Executive Compensation Committee, the Executive Committee and Audit, Risk Management and Compliance Committee. Bud and Adele live in Williamsburg as empty nesters with three grown children and five grandchildren.
