How have your experiences as a Kettering student, parent, or grandparent influenced the personal or professional journeys of you and your family members?
My English teachers at Fairmont furthered my love of reading and eventually editing. My English degree and career in educational publishing would not have been possible without the amazing KCS English staff!
In what ways has attending the same schools in Kettering created a stronger bond within your family?
It’s always fun to reminisce about time at KCS. My brothers and I went through closely together and share memories of certain staff members and classroom environments. My children are the same age separation as we were and it’s a joy to watch them go through a parallel journey—just at a different KCS elementary! It’s truly the staff that make the memories.
Any special memories or reflections that highlight the significance of this shared experience?
My brothers and I were each student athletes and valedictorians, yet we have so many different experiences—something I think is amazingly wonderful about KCS. The district provides so many different opportunities and outlets for its students. You can go through the same buildings and have shared memories yet have just as many completely unique experiences.
