Jen Vorhis Stone: Class of 1994

Wrapping up her 24th year as an educator in Kettering, Jen Vorhis Stone, from the class of 1994, steps into the Faculty Friday alumni spotlight today! Over the years, Jen has served the students and families of Kettering as a gifted education intervention specialist at the middle and elementary school levels (at KMS, Indian Riffle, and Greenmont), and she has been an ELA reading and writing teacher at JFK since 2019. Jen was a Van Buren Knight and Fairmont Firebird softball player, swimmer, and cheerleader. She loved pep rallies and football and basketball games enough to do a stint as a cheer coach for several years! One of her favorite Kettering Schools memories dates back to her 6th grade trip to Camp Kern where she stayed with the classmates and teachers for three days. That love of adventure has stayed with Jen in her travels to 45 states and 22 different countries! In choosing to come back to Kettering as an educator, Jen has enjoyed the opportunities to serve on committees with and work alongside some of her favorite former teachers and principals –  Mr. Timpone, Mrs. Moore-Goad, and Mr. Stager, to name a few. “Kettering has been a great place to work and raise my three kids. I am truly thankful to be part of a district full of so many amazing teachers that I not only work with but have been influential in Gabe, Logan, and Piper’s education as well.”  #Firebirds #legacy #travel #adventure #excellence #tradition #spotlight
