We are excited to announce that the KCS Forward Foundation has been selected as a partner charity for the 2024 Fairmont Spirit Chain! As you might know, Spirit Chain is an annual fundraising competition that has raised over $2.8 million since former activities director and Spanish teacher Roger Bauser initiated the friendly rivalry with Centerville in 1985.
Fairmont’s United Student Body has selected the KCS Forward Foundation, Kettering Backpack Program, and Robyn’s Nest as their nonprofit partners. This year, the coveted Spirit Chain trophy will be awarded on September 13, a full month earlier than usual, and Fairmont students are looking to keep the trophy in Kettering yet again.
Funds contributed to the KCS Forward Foundation from the Spirit Chain competition will support the expansion of the Community Cupboards and Supper Club programs. Community Cupboards provide 24/7 access to basic food and hygiene supplies and will be located at elementary schools across the Kettering City Schools. Supper Club, a monthly meal shared by select high school students and community leaders, will be expanded into the middle schools with funds raised through Spirit Chain. Donations can be made at https://bit.ly/KCSFFspiritchain or by check payable to Kettering City Schools with “Spirit Chain 2024” in the memo line (mailed to 3301 Shroyer Rd., Kettering, OH 45429).
We would love to have your support! Please contact KCS Forward Foundation Executive Director Jessica Stickel at [email protected] or Fairmont Activities Director Corey Miller at [email protected] if you have any questions or would like to get more involved.
Thanks for building on impactful traditions of success by staying connected with your Fairmont family!
