2025 FAIRMONT ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME RECIPIENT

Megan Kelsey, a 2007 graduate of Fairmont High School, exemplified excellence both on and off the field. Megan earned 10 varsity letters as a multi-sport athlete. She showcased her talents in cross country, track, and swimming, leaving an indelible mark on Fairmont athletics. 

In cross country, Megan was a standout performer, earning recognition as an All-Southwest Ohio athlete in 2005 and qualifying for the state meet the same year. Her leadership and dedication to the sport were evident as she served as a two-time team captain, inspiring her teammates with her determination and work ethic. 

Megan’s accomplishments extended to the track, where she was an integral member of the 4x800-meter relay team that claimed district championships in both 2005 and 2007. She was also a member of the 3200m relay team that qualified for regionals in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Notably, the 2006 team holds the 3200m relay school record. Megan also served as a two-time team captain, leading her squad with poise and commitment. 

In the pool, Megan’s leadership was equally impactful. As captain of the swim team during the 2006-2007 season, she brought the same energy and determination that defined her performances as a runner. 

Megan’s achievements were not limited to athletics. A dedicated student and leader within the school, she balanced the demands of sports with academic excellence, setting an example for her peers. Her commitment to success in all areas of life made her a role model for her fellow Firebirds. 

After graduating from Fairmont, Megan continued her athletic career at Bowling Green State University, where she competed in cross country and track at the collegiate level. 

Megan Kelsey’s legacy as a student-athlete, leader, and role model endures at Fairmont High School. Her remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication make her a worthy inductee into the Fairmont High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
