From the class of 2006, Mr. Zachary Yike takes the alumni spotlight this Faculty Friday. He came back to Kettering 12 years ago as a 5th grade teacher at JFK and now teaches 7th grade math at Kettering Middle School. He remembers his experiences with the swim and baseball teams during his senior year fondly because he spent those seasons with some of his best childhood friends. His love of baseball carries on today as the coach of his son’s 8U travel baseball team. Zach loves spending time with his family, cheering for Michigan, and building community at KMS. “I think the best thing about working in the district as an alumni is being able to collaborate with the teachers that I grew up learning from and now being their colleague. I can see how much they still care about all of their students. I also have the ability to give back to the district that raised me and being able to teach these students what it means to be a true Firebird.”
