Thanks to generous private donations from alumni, community members, and businesses, we are excited to announce the opening of the Scott Inskeep Outdoor Classroom at Oakview Elementary! We invite you to join us for a short ribbon cutting ceremony with remarks from Oakview staff and the KCS Forward Foundation. 

STEAM Leader Bern Schwieterman proposed the outdoor classroom to the KCS Forward Foundation through a Building and Equipment grant request, and financial support of our Kettering community -- both near and far -- made it possible.  

The outdoor classroom will be dedicated in memory of former superintendent L. Scott Inskeep, a visionary leader who was passionate about enhancing the positive educational experience for students in Kettering. Upon his unexpected death in 2024, Scott's family requested gifts to the KCS Forward Foundation in lieu of flowers to honor his lifelong dedication to students.
